Former Chick-fil-A Worker Nabbed for $80K Mac & Cheese Refund Scam
A former Chick-fil-A employee in Texas has been arrested for allegedly concocting a scheme to embezzle over $80,000 from his previous employer by manipulating macaroni and cheese orders.
The "Refund" Scheme
According to FOX 4 Dallas, Keyshun Jones was dismissed from a Chick-fil-A location in October 2025. Despite no longer being an employee, he returned and executed the alleged fraud. The restaurant owner found a significant financial shortfall just a month later and alerted authorities.
Surveillance footage reportedly captured Jones unauthorized behind the counter. He is accused of processing around 800 macaroni and cheese tray orders, then issuing immediate refunds to his personal credit cards instead of distributing the food.
The fraudulent transactions are said to have exceeded $80,000.
A Game of Hide and Seek
While there was clear evidence of the fraud, tracking down Jones proved challenging. Authorities reported that he managed to elude capture several times until early 2026.
His arrest occurred on April 17 when the Texas Attorney General’s Fugitive Task Force and Fort Worth Police caught up with him. He is charged with property theft, money laundering, and evading arrest.
