Rihanna House Shooting Suspect's Custody Fight Takes New Twist

Share Post

Ivanna Lisette Ortiz faces significant legal challenges as her case linked to a shooting outside Rihanna’s Los Angeles home progresses. The Florida woman accused of firing shots near the residence must avoid contact with her child, as ordered by the court.

Custody and Legal Proceedings

Ortiz’s child is now under the sole custody of the father, requiring his approval for any communication. This decision comes amid Ortiz's battle against multiple felony charges related to last month’s incident.

Prosecutors have charged Ortiz with 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and three counts of shooting at an inhabited vehicle or dwelling. She has entered a plea of not guilty.

Incident Details

The event reportedly took place while Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, their children, and family were inside the residence. No injuries were reported despite the grave danger posed by the gunfire. Investigators believe Ortiz also fired toward another nearby home.

District Attorney's Statement

Nathan Hochman, Los Angeles County District Attorney, stated that they intend to prosecute the case vigorously due to the significant risk involved. He emphasized that such violent acts endanger communities and will result in severe legal consequences.

Ortiz, identified as a licensed speech pathologist from Florida, allegedly posted videos about Rihanna on social media prior to the shooting. Her legal issues extend beyond criminal charges.
