Brian McKnight Takes Legal Action Against Son and Ex-Wife Over Claims

Share Post

Brian McKnight has filed a lawsuit against several individuals, claiming they have spread false accusations about him. The singer is addressing allegations that he turned his back on his dying son, Niko.

McKnight alleges that a misleading narrative was created by his ex-wife Julie, his son Brian Jr., bloggers Marc Lamont and Tasha K, and the New York Post. He describes these accusations as harmful lies.

Accusations of Abandonment

The singer denies claims that he refused to tell Niko he loved him before his death. He told TMZ the allegations were aimed at damaging his reputation for financial gain, calling them "shockingly dishonest."

Allegations Impact Personal and Professional Life

McKnight also refutes Tasha K's online accusation of inappropriate behavior with a minor. He explains that these claims have strained familial relationships and harmed his career.

Niko, one of McKnight's sons with Julie, died of cancer in May 2025. McKnight believes these allegations necessitated legal action to restore his reputation and seek damages.
