Alabama Teacher Faces Multiple Sex Crime Charges

A high school teacher and girls' basketball coach from Alabama is facing over 30 sex crime charges following an investigation. Paige Parker Adams resigned in March amid the allegations.

Details of the Charges

The grand jury indicted Adams on April 21. Charges include engaging in a sexual act with a student, inappropriate contact with a minor under 19, and distributing obscene material to a student.

Adams, 35, coached the Cold Springs High School girls' basketball team for one season, leading them to the state championships before her resignation.

Personal and Legal Repercussions

Adams was married at the time of her resignation. Her husband, Drew Adams, who coaches the boys’ basketball team at the same school, filed for divorce seeking full custody of their child.

After posting a $225,000 bond, Adams was released from jail but must wear an electronic monitoring device as part of her release conditions.

School's Response and Ongoing Investigation

Cullman County Board of Education Superintendent Dr. Shane Barnette stated that this was the first formal complaint against Adams and emphasized that student safety remains their top priority. An investigation was initiated immediately upon receiving reports.
